St. Charles

The old concrete deck was falling apart due to steel supports below rusted out and various wood supports rotting which had been used to hold the failing deck up over the years.
This home was up for heritage designation so the challenge was to keep the rock wall around the deck intact and the railing had to be removed without damage and then re-installed onto the new deck. The old wood rail does not meet present building code requirements, however, it was allowed legal non-conforming status to preserve the heritage status.
The existing concrete steps and apron were incorporated into the new deck. A wood deck replacement was accepted by the city without damaging the heritage application.
Specializing, but Versatile.
